Want some help with looking after your money?

We are very excited to tell you that we are going to be running some money management courses with Citizens Advice Bureau. The 4 week courses are to help people with learning disabilities to be more confident about looking after their own money. The course tutor also promises us that people who do the course learn tips on how to save money- I think all our staff will be rushing to join the course!

The first course starts on Friday 30th March at Hatters Space, in Nuneaton. It will be for 4 weeks, but there are some bank holidays coming up- hurrah! so this first course will be over 6 weeks. Places are limited so you will need to book. To book phone us 02476 361 800 or

In May we will run the course at the GAP in Warwick, later we will do it in Rugby and somewhere in the South and North of Warwickshire, if people want us to. Click here for more info. about the 1st course

Dental service in Warwickshire

Our health peer advocates have been running a dental project across the county since November called Chattering Teeth. They have been funded by Warwickshire LINk and by end of February we will write a report to say what everyone is saying about visiting the dentist.

The team filmed a dream scene about teeth and asked people to fill in a survey about going to the dentist. We also asked them to talk about good and bad visits. We used a big mouth for people to put their answers in.

Art installation

We were very lucky that Leon from reVOLve youth project (WCAVA) agreed to support the young people to create a great piece of artwork today. Also lucky with the weather and donations from Travis Perkins/Wickes. Thanks to Sarah & to Zoe’s Place for the loan of gazebos. Everyone really got into the artwork. Tomorrow or FRiday will be able to set up a better slide show for you to see how the work developed during the day. We hope that it will tour the schools and council buildings in Warwickshire. Paul has already agreed to display it at WCAVA’s AGM later this year.Click to view slideshow.

Finally we all got to sit down and put the adults on the spot. Paul Tolley CEO- WCAVA chaired the panel. We had Mark Pawsey MP, Annette Skirmer from WEST, David White from reVOLve youth project, Anita Murphy & Carl Ingles from Community Health, and Liz MacKenzie from Connexions.
